Artist Statement
Siri Austill
I am a licensed therapist and multimedia artist specializing in silk painting. I love working with silk because it is alive, interactive, and full of light. The dyes flow like watercolor—sometimes structured, sometimes playful—making it a powerful medium for expressing joy. My art often explores emotions like sorrow, grief, and hope, as well as the beauty of nature and the human spirit.

My work is deeply influenced by my background in therapy, weaving together emotions and imagery to create pieces that inspire reflection, connection, and wonder. Through color, movement, and light, my paintings honor both the weight of sorrow and the brilliance of joy.
Workshops & Retreats

I will be selling my silk scarves and other creations at the Fiber Festival in Salida in September.
